Japan PM to visit US in to meet with Trump

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe plans to visit the United States from April 17 to 20 to hold talks with President Donald Trump, Reuters reported on Monday.

Early March, Abe told reporters he hoped to visit the US to discuss the Korean Peninsula issues with Trump, among other issues.

Japan has been cautious about a recent Olympics-driven rapprochement on the Korean Peninsula, with Abe warning, “talks for the sake of talks are meaningless”

This would be Abe’s second visit to the US after his congratulatory trip last February.
